Players to watch out for this season
1. Wriddhiman Saha - He just got 4 games to play last season for the Sunrisers, and ended up scoring 214 runs at an average of 71.33. He looked in prime form out there and has been in the IPL circuit for a long time and is a highly experienced player. He's likely to be in their starting XI and be the frontline wicket keeper batsman for the team. He showed his potential in the previous season and would love to carry it forward this year as well.
2. The Afghan Spin Trio - And the set is finally complete with the addition of Mujeeb in the auction. Out of their 8 overseas slots, 3 of them are Afghans and all three of them are the spin trio for their National side. With Rashid being the obvious choice to feature in the starting XI, Nabi and Mujeeb however would have to wait for their chances. All three of them are really talented and play T20s all over the world and have turned out to be great T20 players, and whenever they get a chance, they always give their 100%.
3. David Warner - The skipper of the side and their leading run scorer for the past several seasons. 2-time Orange Cap winner as well, and even though has not looked in the best of forms with the bat in his domestic season this year, somehow he loves the IPL and always performs exceedingly well out here and once again he'd love to lead from the front.
4. Kane Williamson - He is a quality cricketer and a worthy part of the Fab 4. He loves to play in every format and plays consistently well. He is a technically gifted batsman and a really difficult batsman to dislodge. The way he played in the playoffs last year after coming back from an injury itself shows the quality that he possesses. He has been struggling with fitness issues but would be looking forward to a great season of IPL ahead of the World Cup.
5. Bhuvneshwar Kumar - He has made a great comeback from his injury, and has been economical as well as a wicket taking bowler for India in the recent matches. He has been bowling on great lengths and using the new ball swing to full use. If he stays fit throughout this IPL season, he'd be their key bowler and a player to watch out for this season.
6. T Natarajan - Found to be an exceptional death bowler last season with continuous yorkers in the death overs to restrict the scoring rate and also pick up wickets. He had been struggling with fitness issues recently but made a comeback in the series against England, but still looking for the bowling accuracy he was known for, and this season of IPL would be crucial for him to make a mark and ensure his place in the Indian squad for the T20I World Cup later this year. He is a consistent wicket taker as he bowls in the death overs and will always be a player to look out for.
7. Abdul Samad - A youngster from Jammu & Kashmir. He had a good season with the bat as a finisher last season, and even though was a bit expensive with the ball, but his finishing abilities were shown really well and he could yet again slot into their XI as a finisher and with the last season's experience and the tournament back in India, he could be a player to look out for.
8. Abhishek Sharma - He played well for SRH last season and for DC in 2019, whenever he got the chance. He also got a couple of wickets with the ball in the previous season, and although was batting quite down the order, he showed his worth with the bat when the top order failed and scored a 31(24), by building a much needed partnership with Priyam Garg in that game against CSK. He has played well for Punjab in the Domestic tournaments as well and whenever he gets a chance this season to play, he could be a good player to look out for.
