PBKS

1. Mayank Agarwal - Didn't have a good season with the bat when he was batting at No.3/4 for the team, but had a tremendous 2020 season as an opener and was the perfect support to KL Rahul from the other end. He was consistently batting well and managing the run rate as well as stroking the new ball in the powerplay overs really well. He got injured towards the end of the season, but would be looking forward to yet another great season with the Kings.

2. KL Rahul - The skipper of the side and the orange cap winner of the 2020 season. He has looked off colors with the bat in the T20 format,  but found his form back through the One-Day format against England, and would look to dominate with the bat in this season of IPL as well.

3. Dawid Malan - No.1 ranked T20I batsman, finally gets a maiden IPL call-up. He has played consistently well on all venues against all oppositions and had a good tour against India ahead of the IPL as well. He was bought at a base price so would be a backup to Gayle in the lineup. But, he's a consistent batsman and although doesn't have a very good T20 Strike Rate, he puts a premium onto his wicket and is a difficult batsman to dislodge and he likes to hold one end and play till the end.

4. Chris Gayle - The Universe Boss! He recently made a comeback into the International Arena and he has made himself available for the T20I World Cup 2021 as well. And for that, playing on these Indian wickets would be a huge boost for him, and unlike last season, he'd be likely to feature from the very first game of the season and occupy that No.3 position and give the perfect support to Rahul and Mayank at the top.

5. Riley Meredith - An 8 Cr player into the squad. He bowls at 150kmph, and recently got capped for the Australian team and performed really well there too. He had a great BBL season for the Hobart Hurricanes as well and would be looking forward to bowling alongside Shami and Richardson in the IPL, and make a mark here before the mega auction next year.

6. Jhye Richardson - The most expensive buy for Punjab Kings in this year's auction. He is likely to feature in every single game this season. He was the leading wicket taker in the BBL 2020 season and has proved to be a great death bowler, a consistent wicket taking bowler and even a great finisher with the bat.

7. Ravi Bishnoi - He was the 2nd highest wicket taker for the franchise in the 2020 season and has been a really good young Indian talent coming up. A leg spinner getting coached by Anil Kumble in the training camp is probably the best thing that's happened to him and he has groomed to be really well and would be a player to watch out for, in this season as well.

8. Shah Rukh Khan - A 5.25 Cr acquisition into the side and probably the best Indian domestic finisher to support Pooran from the other end. He can also bowl a couple of overs if needed. He had the highest strike rate in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy'2021 with a rate of 220 in the tournament. He would look to have a good season with the Kings and be the finisher that the team lacked last season.

9. Ishan Porel - He has been a consistent wicket taking bowler for Bengal in the domestic tournaments. He picked up 13 wickets in 5 matches at a mere average of 10.85, and he'd be a player to watch out for, whenever he gets a chance to feature in the XI. He didn't get to play in the previous season but he could feature this year as the tournament's back in India.
