*DC VS CSK REVIEW- MATCH 68*
*THE AUSSIE STALWART KEEPS FIGHTING WITHOUT TEAM SUCCESS:*
Chasing 224, Shaw fell early and threw his wicket away to Tushar Deshpande. It was another one of those instances where he shows his class only to fail in the very next game. Salt and Roussow followed suit soon after and departed in the fifth over, leaving DC in huge trouble. All this while, Warner looked assured at the crease and was holding one end calmly. Wickets fell around him, but he played the captain’s role to perfection. Post the third wicket, proceedings slowly moved forward without much happening as DC were poised at 72/3 after 10, way behind the required run rate. Another wicket fell as Axat joined his skipper at the crease. The two motored along till the 14th over where Warner ended up losing another partner. The 13th over saw some carnage from the destructive Aussie as Jadeja was taken on for three sixes. It was a dead end post that as DC never really set foot in the chase. They ended up with a below par total of just 146, highlighting how torturous this season was for the Capitals. Chennai not just collected a morale boosting win and memories, but also the tag of qualification and the hope for finishing inside the Top2.
*DEVON-RUTURAJ REIGN SUPREME AS CSK CLIMB EVEREST:*
CSK were successful in sealing the game within the first six when their monstrous pair got off to another rocking start, accumulating runs at over 9 an over and laying the right foundation. Ruturaj, being tentative, took his time but was quick to launch onto anything bad while Conway displayed once again why he is the best all format cricketer in the last two years. The two batted with positivity till the fifteenth over, pushing DC out of the game slowly and slowly and while Ruturaj dealt only in sixes after settling down, Conway showed his array of shots in the form of both 4s and sixes. The former departed for a 50 ball 79 while the latter, the crafty kiwi, shocked DC with a 87 off 52, falling short of a ton by a mere 13 runs. What followed this was a quick impactful cameo by Shivam Dube (22 off 9) and a typical Jadeja finish as he accounted for another 20 runs off 7. The DC crowd couldn’t quite witness the magic of MSD in the death overs today but there were enough reasons for the CSK fans to be happy about, after the conclusion of today’s game.
