*MI VS RR MATCH 42 REVIEW*
*INCREDIBLE MI PULL OFF THE IMPOSSIBLE:*
History has been created. Record books have been shaken. MI did the unthinkable tonight as they breached the highest chased target at the Wankhede by chasing this down courtesy a proper high level batting effort. As high as the finish was, it’s start was just as poor as the birthday boy departed for a single digit score of 3 off 5, come Green, he started from where he left off, being at his destructive best and making the ball sail over. Kishan once again ate up way too many balls and finally mistimed one off Ashwin, to hand the veteran his first wicket. As SKY joined Green in the middle, the fun was only starting as the two gave MI the much needed momentum in the middle, timing it almost perfectly and breaching the fences every now and then. But Green’s departure opened the floodgates as Surya fell to an outstanding catch from Sandeep Sharma soon after. With over 30 required off the final two, RR were certainly in the game with Sandeep and Holder, who have been more than decent this season, to bowl them. But they had not come face to face with the stature of Tim David as the designated finisher. He saw the light at the end of the tunnel and bamboozled them with 3 balls still remaining. First he humiliated Sandeep and with 17 needing off the last 6, he made a mockery of the chase by smashing 3 sixes in a row and sealing the deal for the five time champions.
*BRILLIANT JAISWAL NOTCHES UP HIS FIRST TON:*
Oh what it must feel like to notch up your first ton at your home ground in front of nearly 27,000 people in the stands in the 1000th IPL game. This is what you dream about and Jaiswal truly lived upto it. He was sensational right from the word “go” and never looked back from ball 1. He took the pressure off Buttler in the first 6 but Buttler, as he has been in the last few innings, fell to a low score. Come Sanju, he started with a bang but his innings was cut short by a confused shot. With Holder being promoted, RR would have hoped to see some sensible yet attacking batting but other than a sixer, he couldn’t quite contribute. The designated finishers in Jurel and Hetmyer were also on the receiving end of failing today and it was truly a one way traffic for RR as this highly talented young super star notched up the highest individual score and helped RR go past a mammoth 200. His exploits were the sole reason why he was awarded the Man of the Match award as well.
