*TASTING FIRST HOME DEFEAT*
Punjab Kings, under a new captain, blossomed against the home team and managed to hand them their first loss at the Ekana Stadium. This loss would have been a tough pill to take because it came of the final few deliveries and coming down to some of the poor tactical mistakes.
*KL RAHUL- TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN-*
While Rahul batted beautifully on what was a tricky surface to bat on, his decisions onfield is what become the critical point. He adjusted well to the nature of the pitch and anchored the innings perfectly but what we saw of him as a skipper was baffling to say the least. He underbowled Bishnoi who could have ideally shifted the game in LSG’s favour had he bowled earlier, given the pitch was taking turn and had grip. The over utilisation of Krunal to use less of Stoinis was another decision that resulted in Lucknow’s loss today.
Lucknow had an impressive chance to climb the top of the table and sit comfortably with 8 points in hand, but they let that chance go in what was another cracker of a game at IPL 2023.
