*KKR VS SRH REVIEW*
*BROOK LIGHTS UP THE BIGGEST T20 COMPETITION*
The wait is over, IPL 2023 has its first centurion and it is the extremely talented Brook who was almost flawless in his exact 100 run knock today. He took calculated risks and took on his favourable matchup by targeting the pacers and leaving his other teammates to counter spin. This much maturity from a youngster is highly commendable to say the least. Is this a sign of one of the most beautiful IPL journeys to come? Only time will tell us.
*CLUELESS KKR LEFT HANGING-*
Some of the decisions that Nitish as a skipper took on field blew my mind today. How do you not bowl Shardul Thakur throughout the innings and risk Russell by giving him his third over of the night?
These little moments were highlighted when the SRH innings concluded. They amassed a total of 228 runs, dominating the KKR bowlers left right and centre. The pace bowling was teared apart and despite spinners giving a bit of a break, it was Markram who unleashed his throttle of range hitting against the slow bowling type. It was a total nightmare of an evening for KKR as a bowling group.
*THEY FOUGHT BUT EXPECTEDLY FELL SHORT-*
When your biggest power hitter along with last game’s hero Iyer don’t turn up, you’re already one down. Despite Rana finding his mojo and contributing with a 75, KKR were never quite there in the contest. SRH had dealt a punch in the first 6 overs itself, making their intentions super clear. Regardless of all this havoc, Rinku still managed to make his immense presence being felt by registering his first IPL 2023 fifty and fighting right down till the wire, trying his best to bring the net runrate down. Amidts this, Mayank Markande finished with figures of 2/27, rounding off another great outing for himself and his team.
