NOTES - STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES
1) They won the title in 2019, and haven't even made it to the playoffs ever since their title. The coaching staff that they have in this season is probably the best amongst all 6 franchises, and is what the Gladiators need to change their fortunes this season.
2) A highly inconsistent batting unit, with none of the top 5 being reliable batsmen as such. The day they perform, they'd destroy any opposition, but in a 10 game league stage, waiting for that one game could be very tricky for the side. Iftikhar had an excellent season last year, and would like to continue that form of his, and not the form with which he has played recently.
3) A team filled with pacers, with 9 of them in a squad of 23, and none of them being Left Armers as well. They have 2 regular spinners in Hasaranga and Qais, wherein Hasaranga is only available for the first half of the season. They would have to rely on Iftikhar for the spin duties for majority portion of this season. So, the lack of bowling variations could make it tricky for them on these batting-friendly wickets.
4) Their all rounders would have a huge role to play this season with a great combo in Pretorius-Jacks-Iftikhar-Hasaranga-Nawaz. A quality all rounder set that they have would have to make up for any weaknesses in their batting/bowling units.
