The Three Lions became the second team after defending champions Australia to announce their squad for the World T20. However, unlike Australia, England's World T20 squad had a few surprises.
Johnny Bairstow became the latest casualty to miss out World T20 berth after sustaining a "freak injury" in a golf course. Jason Roy, England's seasoned opener too misses out owing to lean form.
Ben Stokes made an expected return to the T20 squad after bidding adieu to ODI cricket last month whereas the likes of Chris Woakes and Mark Wood have been recalled too.
Jos Buttler, England's skipper who is nursing a calf injury has been slated to join the side before the World Cup begins. His deputy Moeen Ali will lead the side in Buttler's absence in Pakistan tour. Liam Livinstone and Chris Jordan who are nursing injuries too have been included in the squad.
