Chris Gayle (976 runs).
Universe Boss Chris Gayle is the second name in the list of the highest run getters in the T20 World Cup. Gayle who has won the T20 World Cup twice in 2012 and 2016, has played 33 matches and has scored 7 50s and 2 100s with a healthy average of 34.46.
Tilekaratne Dilshan (897 runs).
Former Srilankan opener Tilekaratne Dilshan is the third name in our list with 897 runs from 35 matches with an average of 30.93. Dilshan has won the T20 World Cup in 2014 and has scored 6 50s with a highest score of 96*.
Rohit Sharma (847 runs)*.
Chasing the crown of the highest run getter in T20 World Cup is India's T20 skipper: Rohit Sharma. Rohit, who is only a handful of players to feature in every edition of the T20 World Cup ever since its inception in 2007 has 847 runs from 33 Innings in his T20 World Cup career. The southpaw has scored eight 50s so far in his T20 World Cup career and if India manages to win the upcoming edition in Australia who might very well see Rohit Sharma ascending to the top of the pile and lead India to its second T20 World Cup triumph.
Virat Kohli (845 runs)*.
Chasing Rohit Sharma marginally is Virat Kohli who is by far India's most successful T20 batsman. Virat who recently completed 8000 T20 runs in his career has by far scored 845 runs in 21 Innings only with a stupendous avearge of 76.21. Virat has scored 10 half-centuries in the T20 World Cup, the highest by any batsman and is also India's leading run getter in the last 4 editions of the T20 World Cup with him being the leading run scorer in two of them. If Virat manages to churn out another extraordinary T20 World Cup campaign we might end up seeing him bossing the batting charts as well.
David Warner: (762 runs*).
David Warner is the sixth batsman in the list of the highest runs scored in T20 World Cup. Warner who won the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup was the second highest run getter of 2021 edition. He has scored 762 runs in 30 innings so far with 6 50s to his name.
