The IPL marked its 15 year journey on 18th of April. In the 15 year long run, the IPL has amazed fans all around the world with the gameplay and entertainment. Today, we will be discussing about the 15 not so popularly known IPL facts of all time.

1. Brendon Mccullum scored a magnificent 158 in the very first match of the IPL. Till date, Mccullum remains the only centurion for Kolkata Knight Riders, the least by any team in IPL.

2. Virat Kohli is the only player in IPL history, who has turned up for a single franchise in IPL. Virat has been featuring in the IPL since 2008 and has been playing for the same franchise - Royal Challengers Bangalore.

3. Chennai Super Kings is the side that has appointed the least number of full time captains till date, ie 2. The first being Ms Dhoni and the other being Ravindra Jadeja. Suresh Raina led the team for 5 matches in Dhoni's absence. However Jadeja relinquished his captaincy position after 8 matches and Ms Dhoni was reinstated as CSK Captain.

4. Till date there has been 2 centuries in IPL Finals, one being Wriddhiman Saha and the other being Shane Watson. Wriddhiman Saha is the only IPL centurion in the finals to score a century in IPL Finals in losing cause.

5. The Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is the first Indian player to win the Orange Cup. Tendulkar scored 618 runs in IPL 2010. Till date he remains the oldest Orange Cup winner in IPL.

6. Harshal Patel was the winner of the Purple Cup in IPL 2021 with 32 wickets, the most in any season. But many doesn't know the fact that he is the only uncapped player to do so.

7. Virat Kohli is currently the highest run getter in IPL with 6283 runs after 207 matches that includes 5 hundreds. He also holds the record of the highest runs scored in an IPL season with 973 runs. Virat scored 4 IPL centuries in that season the most by any batsman. Interestingly all his 5 centuries have come while opening the batting.

8. David Warner holds the record of scoring the most number of fifties in IPL , ie 54. Warner also holds the record of being the second highest run scorer in IPL 2016 with 848 runs that too without hitting a single century that season.

9. Dwayne Bravo is one of the two players to win the Purple Cap twice in his career with Bhubaneswar Kumar being the other one. Bravo is also the leading wicket taker in the IPL with 181 wickets.

10. Mumbai Indians are the most successful team in IPL with 5 IPL titles to their name. But beyond the accolades MI also holds the record of being the only team to lose 8 consecutive matches in a season in the ongoing IPL season 15. They won the first match of the season after 8 defeats.

11. Umran Malik is well known for his raw pace and he also holds a unique record of being one of the 4 bowlers to bowl a maiden in the last over of the innings. Umran achieved this rare feat and capped it up with 4 wickets in a match against Punjab Kings in IPL 2022.

12. Virat Kohli never fails to amaze us with his stats and feats isn't it? He is currently the only player in IPL history who has never been auctioned. RCB roped in Virat as a catchment player in IPL 2008 and has retained him in every season thereafter.

13. IPL hattricks are definitely one of the rarest feats to achieve for a bowler. Leggie Amit Mishra holds the record of most hattricks in IPL - 3. Yuvraj Singh too finds his name in the honorary mentions as he bagged 2 hattricks in a single IPL season.

14. The record of scoring the fastest 50 in IPL is held jointly by KL Rahul and Pat Cummins. Both achieved the feat in 14 balls.

15. Nicholas Pooran holds the forgettable consistent record in IPL Ducks. He scored a 0 Ball, 1 Ball, 2 Balls and 3 Balls IPL Ducks in 2021 IPL Season. Notably he scored a Diamond, Golden as well as a Silver Duck in a single IPL Season. However the record of scoring the most ducks in IPL career is being held by Rohit Sharma.
