Over the years the IPL has demolished every T20 batting record by the sheer brilliance of the players who played in the league. But there were instances when even the lowest scores in T20 cricket were breached.

Today we will be discussing about top 5 lowest scores in IPL History.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: (49/10) vs Kolkata Knight Riders, @ Eden Gardens (IPL 2017).

RCB is one of the most unfortunate team in the IPL History when it comes to winning the trophy. However, they also have another unwanted accolade to their name when they were dismissed for a mere 49 runs, thus scoring the lowest total in IPL History.

Chasing a mere 132 against KKR, RCB started shakily losing skipper Virat Kohli for a golden duck and were tottering at 39 for 4 after the Powerplays. However things went really ugly when they lost the remaining 6 wickets for just 10 runs. RCB were bundled for 49 within 10 overs and were beaten hands down.

Rajasthan Royals: (58/10) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore, @ Cape Town (IPL 2009).

Rajasthan Royals won the Inaugural Edition of IPL (2008) and walked in as the Defending Champions against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2009. RCB posted a par score of 133/8 in a bowling friendly wicket.

The bowlers turned demons in the second innings as the RCB bowlers skittled the Royals batsmen for 58. The Royals could not get their chase going as 3 of the 11 batters could only register a joint highest score of 11 runs.

Delhi Daredevils: (66/10) vs Mumbai Indians, @ Kotla (IPL 2017).

Mumbai Indians won the IPL 2017 in a last ball encounter. However their most demolishing performance came against the Delhi Daredevils in a group stage match at Delhi’s home ground, The Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium when they posted a mammoth 212 runs.

Chasing a massive 213 runs, the Daredevils were never in contention as they lost their first wickets within 20 runs. With only 3 batsmen registering a double digit score and 3 batsmen registering a duck, DD were dismissed for 66 runs within 14 overs.

Delhi Daredevils: (67/10) vs Kings Xi Punjab, @ Mohali (IPL 2017).

IPL 2017 proved to be the most disastrous season for the Delhi Daredevils as they ended up scoring their second lowest and overall 4th lowest score in IPL history within a span of 7 days. Mohali it was and it was against the Kings Xi Punjab that the Daredevils got dismissed for 67 runs, eclipsing their lowest score by a solitary run.

Put into bat first, DD lost their first 4 wickets within 25 runs and coincidentally only 3 of their batsmen could manage a double digit score. They batted for 17 overs before perishing at 67 runs. The Kings Xi Punjab were clinical in the run chase as they chased down the total unscathed within 8 overs.

Kolkata Knight Riders: (67/10) vs Mumbai Indians, @ Wankhede (IPL 2008).

KKR was one of the exciting franchises in IPL 2008. They started like a champion but their run extinguished after a couple of matches and took an epic downfall at the hands of the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede where they registered their lowest IPL total till date.

Put into bat, the Knights started losing early wickets courtesy Shaun Pollock’s opening spell of 3 wickets. The Knights lost their first six wickets within 50 runs and ultimately got out for 67 runs. The Mumbai Indians too started shakily as they lost Sachin Tendulkar for a Duck. However with no further hiccups. Mumbai Indians ended up winning the match by 8 wickets.
