The cricket fans across the World are in for a treat as the Legends of the game are coming back to action once again. And this time it is not for a one-off charity game but for a fully competitive professional league in the form of Legends League of Cricket.
The sporting extravaganza is scheduled to be held in the Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Oman in January 2022. Oman has been a wonderful host to the recently concluded T20 World Cup along with UAE.
As per reports prominent former players from India, Pakistan, Srilanka, England, West Indies and Australia will participate in LLC. The tournament will be conducted in a Round-Robin Format with 3 teams namely India Legends, Asia Legends and Rest of the World Legends.
The inaugural edition of Legends League of Cricket received a huge boost when the management roped in Former Indian Coach- Ravi Shastri as the Commissioner of LLC.
As per official reports, the tournament will feature many former Indian players including players from 2011 World Cup winning squad. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan are some of the big names that will don the Indian colours once again.
The Srilankan legends too are not far behind with as many as 5 players already approached for participation in the LLC that includes Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, Chaminda Vaas, Romesh Kaluwithrana and Tilekaratne Dilshan.
The likes of Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Brian Lara, Tino Best, Darenn Sammy, Ajit Agarkar, Shoaib Akhtar, Kevin Pietersen, Nayan Mongia, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan are too in the list of probables of making the cut in Legends League of Cricket.
If all goes well then it will be a trip down the memory lane for all the cricket lovers once again.
