Latest transfer updates in IPL.

The IPL is set to begin from 19th September in UAE. With the T20 WC scheduled next in the same place after the IPL a lot of players will see this IPL as a dress reharsal or the T20 World Cup to follow.

However, with the bio bubble restrictions and other stringent measures in place, a lot of overseas players have opted to skip this edition of IPL citing personal reasons, to stay fresh and be available for the World Cup.

With a sort of mini draft already taking place, let us look at some of the high potential transfers that took place ahead of IPL.

• Royal Challengers Bangalore.

RCB have underwent a mini overhauling of their squad in this period with a total of 5 replacements being announced which includes 4 overseas and 1 domestic player. RCB has roped in Wanindu Hasaranga, Dushmanta Chameera, George Garton and Tim David for Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams, Kane Richardson and Finn Allen.

• Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals boasted of an English dominated overseas contingent comprising of the trio of Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer. But fast forward to the second leg of IPL, none of the three are travelling to UAE with the Royals. Even Andrew Tye has opted out of IPL 2021. They have been replaced with the likes of Evin Lewis, Oshane Thomas, Glenn Phillips and Tabriaz Shamsi respectively.

• Punjab Kings.

PBKS is the only side that won't mind parting ways with their 3 overseas recruits as their replacements look more potent. Infact, PBKS is the only side that has announced the replacements keeping the playing conditions in mind. They have roped in Adil Rashid and Aiden Markram for the outgoing Jhye Richardson and Dawid Malan. Aussie quick Nathan Ellis comes in for Riley Meredith too.

Sunrisers Hyderabad.

SRH will be missing the services of Johnny Bairstow, who too has opted out of the IPL in the eleventh hour. This will come as a big jolt for the Sunrisers as they are struggling to get their campaign back on track and are languishing at the bottom of the table. Bairstow will be replaced by West Indian all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford.

• Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Knight camp too has been hit by the replacement wave with Aussie speedster Pat Cummins not available for the UAE league. Cummins was one of the brightest spots in Knight's lacklustre IPL campaign in the first leg of IPL. KKR has roped in veteran Kiwi Pacer Tim Southee as Cummin's replacement.

Delhi Capitals.
